Our Team

One of our core purposes is doing meaningful work with people we love. There is a love shared among our team that spills over into how we engage with our clients. All of our consultants have a background in organizational leadership and all of our coaches are ICF-credentialed, certified Integral Coaches.

What does it mean to be an “exceptional” leader?

Many of us hear the word “exceptional” and think “outstanding,” “excellent,” or “best-in-class.” If this is what it means to be exceptional, then an exceptional leader is “the very best leader.” That may inspire some who are driven in that way. But for everyone else, it’s too grand or altogether undesirable.

The word literally means, “unusual; not typical.” So, an exceptional leader is uncommon. An exceptional leader is Inwardly Sound and Others Focused, marked by things like humility, self-awareness, curiosity, security, and purpose. An exceptional leader sees work as an important part of life but not life itself. An exceptional leader believes that work is the means and that people are the ends, not the other way around. This is a better way to lead by any metric: profitability, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, progress on mission, community impact, etc. It is a path that positively impacts everything and everyone you care about. In the end, becoming an exceptional leader isn’t just a better way to lead, it’s also a better way to live.

The Leader Tree

To be crystal clear about what an exceptional leader is and to facilitate developmental dialogue, we created a holistic, evidence-based model of leadership, built on the cornerstone of what accounts for 75% of a leader’s effectiveness. The great news is that exceptional leaders are made, not born. Exceptional leaders are common people who are making the choice to be uncommon leaders who leave their followers and the world better than they found them. You can walk this path. We will go with you.
