Over more than 20 years, Vanessa has worked with senior leaders and executive teams to unleash potential and build leadership capacity at all levels within organizations. She is a co-founder and principal of Exceptional Leaders, LLC, a venture focused on guiding leaders and teams to achieve long-term, sustained excellence through advanced leadership development and integral coaching.
Vanessa’s approach to leadership emphasizes the internal qualities of a leader as well as their outward skills and competencies. Firmly rooted in both the science and art of leadership, Vanessa and her team have developed a comprehensive, research-based leadership model, which underpins much of her work.
As a coach, Vanessa combines her expertise in leadership effectiveness with a deep understanding of human development to support each client along their own developmental journey.
In addition to working with individual leaders, Vanessa frequently builds customized leader development programs and processes to support the development of the next generation of leaders within her client companies. As part of this work, she also supports intact or emerging leadership teams in strengthening their overall trust, positivity and performance.

Vanessa holds professional coaching credentials with New Ventures West and the International Coach Federation, a Master of Arts degree in industrial and organizational psychology from the University of Colorado at Denver, and a Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma City University with concentrations in psychology and business. She is also certified in the administration of a variety of leadership and personality assessments.
When she’s not working with corporate leaders, Vanessa loves spending time outdoors and exploring the world through travel and books. Vanessa resides in Rhode Island with her husband and their two children.
